Souvenir of Camp McClellan and Anniston, Ala.

This souvenir booklet was released to commemorate the building and staffing of Camp McClellan (later Fort McClellan) in Anniston, Ala. Camp McClellan was originally constructed as a World War I training camp for U.S. soldiers primarily from Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, and New Jersey. According to an inscription on the back cover, this copy probably belonged to Private Ervin [last name illegible], Battery F., 35th Field Artillery, who was stationed at the camp in 1917. It was presented to the Library by James Haywood.

The Coosa Congregation of the Talladega Presbytery organized the new church in 1858 under J.W.L. Smith as ordained minister. The document contains session meeting minutes and church member rosters from 1858-1870s.
