This embroidered uniform patch was designed by Jacob Anderson for the 2022 Marching Southerners show. It marks the Southerners' winning of the Sudler Trophy, awarded by the John Phillip Sousa Foundation. The award was presented at the November 12, 2022 JSU football game. It recognizes collegiate marching bands of particular excellence that have made outstanding contributions to the American way of life. It is awarded biannually.

The 2016 Marching Southerners performed for the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii. The music from the 2016 show titled, "Heroes Salute" was performed on the deck of the Battleship Missouri Memorial in Hawaii. Inscription on the flag reads: "Flag flown at The World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument on the USS Arizona Memorial Pearl Harbor - Honolulu, Hawaii, 07 December 2016 - 75th Anniversary."
