Custer's Last Stand was an 1899 oil on canvas painting by Edgar Samuel Paxson. The painting depicts the June 25-26, 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn in which LTC George Armstrong Custer and his regiment were defeated by Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors.
