Governor John Patterson and several state government dignitaries visited Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) for Governor's Day events held April 21, 1961. Shown inside Leone Cole Auditorium Governor Patterson stands giving a speech from the podium. Also seated in front on stage are President Houston Cole and Calhoun County Representative Hugh Merrill.
