Awards were presented to the outstanding athletes and athletic staff at the annual athletic banquet held May 11, 1970 in the Leone Cole Auditorium at Jacksonville State University. Preston Newman, right, was installed as the new J Club President during the event. Shown Mrs. W.P. Newman, left, holds an award given by the JClub honoring Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Newman for their support of the football team during the season. Preston Newman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Newman.
