Awards Day is held by the ROTC every spring preceding the end of the semester. Winners of plaques were Cadet Herbert Griffin (championship marksmanship plaque), Cadet First Lieutenant Norman Smoake (outstanding platoon leader and outstanding Armor graduate), Cadet Billy Arnold (outstanding company), Cadet SFC James Bentley (ROTC Medal by Association of U.S. Army for outstanding cadet in MS III), Dr. Leon Willman (dean of students), and Lieutenant Colonel David Coleman (commander of the ROTC Unit at Jacksonville State College).
