Major General George A. Carver, Commanding General IV United States Army Corps, visited Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) January 7, 1964 to confer with President Houston Cole, attend ROTC classes, and inspect military facilities. Among the students he met during his visit was Diana Chu of Hong Kong, right.
