Mrs. Reuben Self (right), assistant principal of Jacksonville High School, and Mrs. Bernard Hennes (middle), teacher of speech therapy, present Dr. Ernest Stone, Professor of Education and Superintendent of City Schools, a cashier's check on behalf of the laboratory schools' faculties. The check was for the purchase of new academic cap and gown appropriate to the honorary degree of doctor of laws which Dr. Stone received at Howard College May 28, 1962. (circa May 28, 1962)
