A three-day Invitational Mardi Gras Rifle Match was held at Nicholls State University on February 29, 1980. New Mexico Military Institute gained the 1980 Division B championship trophy. Jacksonville State University won second place by only two points. Shown are the individual winners from among 31 teams of over 150 shooters. Division A winners were from left, front row, Bill Tolson (high aggregate and high prone; Florida Institute of Technology), Greg Graves (high kneeling; Florida Institute of Technology), Steve Geoff (high standing; Pittsburg State University). Division B winners were from left, back row, Steve Barbera (high prone; Nicholls State University), Randy Beers (high kneeling; Jacksonville State University), and Scott Swetman (high aggregate and high standing; New Mexico Military Institute).
