A three-day Invitational Mardi Gras Rifle Match was held at Nicholls State University on February 29, 1980. New Mexico Military Institute gained the 1980 Division B championship trophy. Jacksonville State University won second place by only two points. Shown are team captains with trophies, from left, Bill Puckett (JSU), SGT Al Corley (tournament director), Kim Reynolds (West Texas State University), Alvin Badeaux (tournament co-sponsor), and W.C. Flynt (New Mexico Military Institute).
