Description
Staff Sgt. Elizabeth Lozada, a first aid instructor at Jacksonville State University, administered CPR and stabilized crash victims until paramedics arrived after witnessing a car accident. In recognition of her quick action, Sgt. Lozada was awarded the American Red Cross's highest honor, the Certificate of Merit on March 22, 1995. Shown Sheila Gilbert, aide to Rep. Glen Browder, presents Sgt. Lozada with a letter of congratulations and appreciation signed by President Bill Clinton.
