Description
The original school bell found a new home in the newly landscaped forecourt in front of Bibb Graves Hall at Jacksonville State University. The bell was possibly the oldest artifact at the university at that time, cast in 1858 in a foundry in Troy, New York, before traveling to Jacksonville for use in the tower of the Calhoun College building. Shown two men work to secure the bell during the moving process. (circa 1983 or after)
