Description
The small wooden school house shown, the site where Jacksonville State University President Houston Cole first taught, was located in the Hawkins Community atop Lookout Mountain. President Cole stands with Jack Hopper (Athletic and Public Relations Director), left, and Ken Jones (Editor of the Chanticleer), center, outside the wooden school building. The print is autographed by Houston Cole on June 22, 1970 "To my friend, Ken, with best wishes for his future success." The original was courtesy of Ken Jones, a Chanticleer editor and photographer.
