Jacksonville State University was home to the Northeast Alabama Police Academy in 1977-1978. All newly hired police and law enforcement officers in Alabama were required to attend police academy before being accepted permanently by their departments. Identified are Dr. Theron Montgomery, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ernest Stone, University President. (circa 1977)
