The outstanding athletes of the 1977 Gamecock football team were honored during the football awards banquet held January 20, 1978 in the Leone Cole Auditorium at Jacksonville State University. Head coach Jim Fuller congratulates Jesse Baker (Most Valuable Defensive Lineman), Randy Ragsdale (Most Valuable Offensive Lineman), Gurley Swanigan (Most Valuable Defensive Back), and Bobby Ray Green (Most Valuable Offensive Back and Most Valuable Player).
