An invitation reads, "The Inaugural Committee requests the honor of your presence and participation in the Inauguration of Jimmy Carter as President of the United States of America and Walter Mondale as Vice President of the United States of America on Thursday the twentieth of January one thousand nine hundred and seventy-seven in the City of Washington." The invitation appeared in The Chanticleer. (circa January 17, 1977)
