Jacksonville State University was home to the Northeast Alabama Police Academy in 1974-1975. All newly hired police and law enforcement officers in Alabama were required to attend police academy before being accepted permanently by their departments. Shown are attendees at a graduation ceremony. Identified are Dr. Ernest Stone (president) and Dr. H. Bascom Woodward III (director of research and planning).
