Dr. and Mrs. Calvert pose for a studio portrait. Palmer Calvert retired as head of the Physical Education Department at Jacksonville State University May 1971. Dr. William J. Calvert, Jr. joined the English department in 1933, became department chairman in 1944, and retired as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in 1972.
