Outstanding teachers from across Alabama were annually inducted into the Jacksonville State University Teacher Hall of Fame. The seventh annual Teacher Hall of Fame Awards Banquet was held March 31, 1976 in the Student Commons Auditorium at Jacksonville State University. Shown is a top 10 finalist. The elementary division finalists were Mrs. Ruth Garrett, Mrs. Alma Evans, Mrs. Vera Hitson, Mrs. Gene Horton, Mrs. Eveylon Westbrook. Secondary division finalists were Mrs. Sallie Cook, Mrs. Jane Espy, Mrs. Lucy Hagler, Mrs. Louise Hayles, William Tolbert. (circa March 31, 1976)
