Description

The Martin Home in Jacksonville, AL was built around 1850. J. Thomas Martin was the Jacksonville postmaster from 1934 to 1956. The house burned circa 1961-1965. In the 1960s, Jacksonville State College purchased the Martin Home and property. Where the stately antebellum home once stood, the college erected a classroom named Martin Hall. (circa 1950s-1960s)
