A special awards assembly was held at Jacksonville State College in early November 1954. Charlie Wilson, master of ceremonies, made awards with Mrs. W.J. Calvert, head of the physical education department. Carlton Hosmer, left, received the first annual J Club trophy after being selected the "Most Valuable Player" in the intramural touch football league. Howard Waldrep, right, president of the J Club, presented the trophy. (circa November 15, 1954)
