Teacher of household economy at the Jacksonville State Normal School in 1913-1914 was Marion McMelan, seated far left. She began teaching there in 1911. Shown a group of women sew during a sewing class. Students of household economy were taught plain sewing, machine sewing, and the study of textiles and how they related to health. (circa 1913)
