Description
The Whisenant family is shown outside the Edward L. Woodward Home. After 1832 the Woodwards were among those who began settlements in the lower Appalachian chain. Edward L. Woodward was one of the first trustees of Calhoun College in 1869 as well as one of its stockholders. Also, Col. William Henry Forney married Mary Eliza Woodward at the home of Edward L. Woodward in 1854. (circa 1890)
