Dr. Reuben Self, director of secondary education at Jacksonville State College, planned a series of programs in which eight superintendents and one official of the U.S. Treasury were brought to the campus as guest speakers. Shown Dr. Self, left, stands with Dr. A.R. Meadows, right, superintendent of Madison County Schools, who was one in the series of speakers to address the education students. (circa January 30, 1954)
