Description
Dr. J.C. Francis first moved to Jacksonville in 1837 and served the town for more than 50 years as physician until he passed away in 1888. About 1850 his office was built on the courthouse square. Many doctors over the years also used this office such as C.J. Clark, John M. Francis, Forney M. Lawrence, and James Williams. Handwritten note on back of photo: "...office is now Dr. Rowan" (circa 1940s)
