Gov. George Wallace proclaimed August 27, 1973 as "Jane Rice Day" to honor the reigning Miss Alabama. Events held were a fashion show, a song medley, an autograph party, and a surprise birthday party. Shown Jane Rice stands on stage in the Student Commons building during a show.
