Description
The Miss Northeast Alabama pageant was held May 15, 1971 at Jacksonville State University in the Student Commons Auditorium. Shown seated is Miss Northeast Alabama Ceil Jenkins with her bouquet, trophy, and crown. In 1969-70 she was a Gamecock cheerleader. In 1971 she was crowned Miss Mimosa, Miss Northeast Alabama, and Miss Alabama. She holds the honor of being named the first Miss Alabama in the history of JSU. [courtesy of Teresa Cheatham Stricklin]
