Description

The 87th annual graduation exercises were held May 30, 1970 at Jacksonville State University. The JSU Board of Trustees presented President Houston Cole with an honorary doctorate of letters degree. The surprise presentation was given in recognition of his devotion to the institution during his past 28 years of service. Shown Board of Trustees members Hugh Merrill and C.W. Daugette, Jr. stand with Dr. Houston Cole on stage in the Leone Cole Auditorium. Print signed by Hugh Merrill.
