The first annual Teacher Hall of Fame Awards Banquet was held April 10, 1970 at Jacksonville State University. Mrs. Jesse Freeman, elementary division, and Mrs. Dora Gene Hill, secondary division, were inducted into the JSU Teacher Hall of Fame. Shown, from left, are President Houston Cole, Sen. Henry Jackson (banquet speaker), and James Haywood (director of food services) at the held table inside the Leone Cole Auditorium.
