Photo circa 1880s-1890s. A class of approximately 45 school children in front of their school, with a dark-haired and bearded man, teacher and principal, sitting alone at front center. Said to be Tom Neel. William Simpson Neel (1841-1910) was the husband of Elizabeth Lewis Betty Pelham Neel (1841-1921). Betty was the sister to Major John Pelham. [donated by Mrs. Rabun N. Patrick]
