Gem of the Hills were chosen for their attractiveness, poise, and charm. Gail Lovelady was chosen as a Gem of the Hills in September 1974. A sophomore from Rabbittown she majored in accounting. She was also the current Miss Farm Bureau of Calhoun County. (circa September 30, 1974)
