Name written on photograph: Dr. Atkinson Pelham, Alexandria, Ala. Dr. Atkinson Pelham (1797-1880) was a town doctor for many years. He married Martha Mumford McGehee Pelham in 1833. They were the parents to Major John Pelham, known as "The Gallant Pelham." (circa 1865)
