Description
Russell Brothers Studio has labeled: Miss Leone Pruett. Leone Pruett Cole (1902-1949) was the daughter of Joseph Decatur Pruett and Mary Elizabeth Vann. She was a native of Boaz, Alabama and attended Jacksonville State Teachers College (now Jacksonville State University), where she met and later married Houston Cole in the early 1920s. Leone Cole attended the University of Alabama and was an educator. She moved with her husband to Jacksonville when he became president of Jacksonville State Teachers College. Based on later dated photos, this image was probably taken sometime in the late 1910s or early 1920s.
