Description
Name written on negative by Russell Brothers Studio: "Mrs. C. W. Daughette" [sic]. This is probably because the original image belonged to Annie Rowan Forney Daugette and she brought it to Russell Brothers to have a copy made. This image (identified by comparison with verified images of the major general) is of Major General John Horace Forney (1829-1902). Date circa 1862; his Confederate uniform bears three stars, denoting a general. Forney was promoted to brigadier general and then major general in 1862. Forney is the father of Annie Rowan Forney Daugette.
