Description

This studio portrait of Katherine Killebrew (1924-2009) is estimated to have been produced between the late 1930s and 1941. Killebrew was the daughter of Payton Scott Killebrew and Sallie Mae Bright Killebrew. An Anniston native, she graduated from Anniston High School in 1942 and received a B.S. from Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University), Master’s from Peabody College, and A.A. Certification in Administration from the University of Alabama. She was a teacher in the Piedmont City and Anniston City School Systems and principal of Cobb Junior High School. She was a benefactor to the Anniston-Calhoun County Public Library.
