Description
William David Staples, Jr. (1912-1992) was a native of Anniston, Alabama and longtime resident of Jacksonville, Alabama. He attended the United States Naval Institute in Maryland and served in the US Navy and Navy Reserves. He worked as a veterinarian in Mississippi and Jacksonville, Alabama and later as a biology professor at Jacksonville State Teachers College (later Jacksonville State University). According to Staples' sister, this photograph was taken in 1920, when Staples was eight.
