Description

Men's dormitory Patterson Hall at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) was named for the late Albert Patterson, attorney-general nominee killed by an assassin's bullet in Phenix City, Alabama. A dedication was held on the front steps of Patterson Hall on October 8, 1961. Shown from left are President Houston Cole, Governor John Patterson (son of Albert Patterson), Mrs. Albert Patterson (wife of Albert Patterson), Mrs. Archie Glass (housemother for Patterson Hall), Ex-congressman LaFayette Patterson (brother of Albert Patterson), and Col. Harry M. Ayers (publisher of The Anniston Star).
