Governor John Patterson and family, state and area officials, and local guests visited Jacksonville State College for College Appreciation Day held October 8, 1961. Patterson Hall was dedicated outside the dormitory and afterwards the group moved inside to the new Leone Cole Center. Shown Governor Patterson speaks from the podium. Also identified seated on stage are Jack Dempsey, Col. Harry M. Ayers, President Houston Cole, Mayor Frank Casey, Tom Roberson, and John B. Nisbet, Jr.
