Description

Jacksonville State College gamecock football team played against the University of Rhode Island on December 4, 1955 in the eighth annual Refrigerator Bowl at Evansville, Indiana. Gamecocks won 12 to 10. A crowd of approximately 4,000 people greeted the players on their arrival back home to Jacksonville. Players Billy Hicks, awarded "most valuable player," and Roy Bailey display awards with Coach Don Salls.
