Description

Lee Manners (head of the art department), right, presents Mrs. Ernest Stone (chairman of the university wives project), center, and Mrs. A. Page Sloss (president of the American Needlepoint Guild), left, with the first completed water color university crest. The Jacksonville State University crest was the first of 25 college emblems presented to Mrs. Sloss. Each college crest was to be copied in needlepoint and placed on a dining room chair in the governor's mansion. (circa September 18, 1974)
