Ellen Goss was a junior majoring in business at Jacksonville State University in 1973-1974. She won Alabama's Maid of Cotton 1973 title and was a finalist in the national Maid of Cotton Pageant. She packed her luggage before heading to Memphis, TN for the competition where she placed in the top 20. (circa December 27, 1973)
