Description

Awarding of honors to the Jacksonville State College ROTC unit was held during ceremonies May 11, 1956. Shown Col. Robert G. Thiering, Alabama Military District chief, presents a trophy to Cadet Earlon G. McWhorter designating him as Cadet of the Year. Standing behind McWhorter are outstanding cadets from the four college classes, Paul Cothran (senior), Fred Casey (junior), Charles Y. Hurst (sophomore), and Jerry W. McNabb (freshman).
