Description

Miss Elene Sparks, a member of the International House, was one of two American students who received a scholarship to spend a year in Europe. Shown she is congratulated by Newspaper columnist Drew Pearson during ceremonies held April 29, 1949. Standing left are President Houston Cole and Director James Jones. Standing right are C.L. Simpson, the second scholarship winner, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller, generous donors and friends of the International House Program, and Col. Harry Ayers, publisher of the Anniston Star and contributor of the International House program.
