The first self-service postal service center was opened in North Alabama at Jacksonville State University in 1972. Complete mail service was available to students. Shown during the opening are, left, Charles A. Nunnally, Manager of Anniston Sectional Center, and right, Dr. Ernest Stone, University President. (circa August 11, 1972)
