Description

Horace Lee Stevenson retired from his position at Jacksonville State University on August 6, 1971. Stevenson was known as "Coach Steve" to many since he spent more than 20 years in high school athletics before coming to Jacksonville State as an Instructor of History. A reception was given in his honor by the college. Shown behind a table of refreshments are President and Mrs. Ernest Stone, Dr. Houston Cole, Mrs. Palmer Calvert, Horace Stevenson, and Dr. Peter Robinson. (circa August 6, 1971)
