Mrs. Houston Cole, wife of Jacksonville State University President Houston Cole, opened the 1970 Gamecock baseball season by throwing out the first ball. Shown John Travis, starting and winning Gamecock pitcher, presents Mrs. Cole with the ball. Bat Girls Debbie Newman and Pam Brunson look on. (circa March 23, 1970)
