Dr. Houston Cole, President of Jacksonville State University from 1942 to 1971, stands with an unidentified male inside an office together holding a plaque for a faculty award presented to him. The plaque reads in Latin, "Audite Hoc, In Anno Domini 1971 Cum Amicitie et Gratis Societas Magistrorum Jacksonville State University Dr. Houston Cole Communites Pri Vita Sue. Desideramus el cibum et potionem dare qui nobis cibum et potio fuit." Mrs. Houston Cole and another female stand behind them. (circa 1970)
