James E. Folsom, also known as Big Jim Folsom, was elected Governor of Alabama and sworn in January 17, 1955. Shown the college marching band (under the direction of John Eugene Duncan) marches down the road during the inaugural parade in Montgomery, AL. The state capital building is shown in the background. (circa January 17, 1955)
