Selected by the Jacksonville State University publicity department, Gems of the Hills were chosen for their attractiveness, poise, and charm. Billie Campbell was chosen as a Gem of the Hills in January 1960. A sophomore majoring in business, she is seated outside on campus. (circa January 18, 1960)
