Larry Martin was a senior at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree on May 28, 1961. He was awarded an assistantship at Tulane University for two years also receiving a stipend of $3,000 and his tuition annually. He was also selected as an outstanding senior of the year. (circa April 10, 1961)
